# evotions — Experience Technology Studio > evotions is a Singapore-based experience technology studio. We build immersive installations, phygital activations, and experimental art for museums, cultural institutions, and brands. Unreasonably Memorable. Craft first. Tech enabled. Every project begins before the brief. The stated ask is rarely the actual problem. From there: define the interaction, prototype at small scale, test with real people, build to deployment. A small number of projects at a time so every client gets the full attention of the studio. ## Services - Immersive Media — large-format projection, LED, real-time interactive systems - Phygital Experiences — physical-digital hybrids, custom hardware, sensor integration - Art Direction — visual language, spatial design, narrative framing - Experimental Art — installations, participatory works, public art - Strategic Direction — experience strategy for institutions and brands ## Clients Scape · Singapore Art Museum · National Gallery Singapore · KidSTOP · Science Centre Singapore · Ayana Resorts · Disney+ · AWS · ST Engineering ## Selected Works ### the galilean mission (2026) For KidsSTOP™ / Science Centre Singapore A 20-minute immersive space experience for children at KidsSTOP™, Science Centre Singapore, built on a custom GenAI pipeline and live LiDAR-tracked gameplay. Services: Immersive Media, Phygital Experiences Brief: Create an unforgettable walk-in immersive experience about space. Collaborators: And we did - in collaboration with OTBT and Kult Studio & Gallery. KidsSTOP™ is Science Centre Singapore's dedicated children's science centre, a 3,000sqm space running two daily sessions for children aged 18 months to 8 years. The Black Box is its dedicated darkened room, built for continuous programmed experiences. The brief stipulated 20-minute walk-in sessions running on 30-minute intervals, included with admission, with no pre-booking and no operator required to trigger or manage each run. Stats: 5×2m projection wall · 4 distinct Galilean moons · 4,000+ children in 5 weeks · 1 unforgettable experience The projection wall at The Black Box is 5 metres wide by 2 metres tall, a format no generative video tool at the time produced content for at projection quality. A traditional VFX pipeline was outside both the budget and the available timeline. We built a custom ComfyUI pipeline: multimodal model mixing to handle the different visual demands of each moon environment, custom node configurations tuned to the output format, and a keyframe-to-video workflow that produced 15 scenes across four alien worlds. The Ganymede aurora sequence required a multi-layer compositing approach inside the workflow, combining base surface, aurora mid layer, atmospheric haze, and colour temperature adjustment at add-blend, to get the luminance behaviour correct at the projection throw distance. The client came in with a loose concept direction and reference material for the guide character. From there, a GenAI character development pipeline ran in parallel with content production: style exploration, proportion iteration, expression testing, and costume refinement across dozens of variants before the design locked. The final character, a T-Rex in a pilot uniform, included an expression library covering six states, consistent enough across renders to drive VO-synced animation throughout the 20-minute experience. The pirate attack sequence required spatial tracking in a darkened room with no reliable ambient light and no surface for optical systems to work against. We used a Hokuyo LiDAR unit mounted to read the throw zone in front of the projection wall. The sensor reads spatial presence and throw events independent of lighting conditions, with no held controller or touchscreen required. The first wave of aliens carries standard HP; the second takes multiple hits. The system runs without an operator present across hundreds of daily cycles. The Galilean Mission opened at The Black Box, KidsSTOP™ on 14 March 2026 and runs through 30 August. Entry is included with KidsSTOP™ admission. The system runs without a dedicated technical operator: each 20-minute session triggers, completes, and resets automatically across KidsSTOP™'s two daily operating windows without intervention. Services: Immersive Media, Phygital Experiences Brief: Deploy an interactive installation, captivating attendees into the event space. Collaborators: And we did - in collaboration with Disney+, TenSquare and YunoraSG. Stats: 7×2m outdoor LED display · 10 simultaneous users · 1,500+ interactions · 3 unforgettable nights The site was an outdoor road intersection: a 7m x 2m LED display, direct sunlight, no controlled environment. We built the tracking system around compact infrared lidars on 3D-printed magnetic mounts, chosen for reliability over hours of unsupervised public use. We added a timed canvas fade after observing during testing that users hesitated before painting over each other's work. The installation ran the full event without intervention, handling ten simultaneous users from a single machine. 1,500+ interactions logged across three nights. The timed fade became the most-photographed interaction. Users would watch their work disappear, then return to paint again. Services: Experimental Art, Immersive Media Brief: Exploring anxiety and release in an unassuming way. Collaborators: Shown at Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB): Currents, presented by Tusitala, 26 July 2025, River Valley, Singapore. The piece was built the night after leaving a full-time role as a creative technologist at one of Singapore's largest exhibition companies. That context is the installation's structure. Four states run through it. Inaction: ambient noise fills the room, continuous and directionless, the visitor standing inside it without recourse. Action: the scream, a physical assertion against the overwhelm, which fades the ambient layer and leaves the space briefly quiet. Peace: those few seconds, the visitor's own voice decaying in the room with them. Acceptance: the noise returns on a fixed timer, and what remains is the sound they made trying to get out, now the loudest thing left. The act of seeking quiet makes you the noise. When the ambient layer comes back, two options remain: scream again, or leave. The installation cannot be resolved from inside it. The only exit is to change your environment. "Looks like it's the noise around us, or the noise in our heads." Scream for Silence ran for one evening on 26 July 2025. People could be heard screaming from blocks away. It became an unreasonably memorable part of the evening for the 300+ visitors who attended. The piece was subsequently featured in Plural Art Magazine's writing on creative technology as a field of practice. Services: Immersive Media, Art Direction Brief: Develop an immersive experience exploring emotions and technology. Collaborators: And we did - in collaboration with Singapore Art Museum (SAM), deployed at SAM Art Dose (2023) and Hong Kong PolyU's Researching the Future exhibition (2024). The brief required making something invisible legible across a shared physical space. The installation represents each visitor's emotional state as a coloured orb that drifts through the room, intersecting with the states left by previous visitors and building a collective picture of emotion over time. The system was deployed in two configurations: SAM Art Dose in Singapore in 2023, and Hong Kong PolyU's Researching the Future exhibition in 2024. Mind Peek ran at SAM Art Dose in Singapore in 2023 and at Hong Kong PolyU's Researching the Future exhibition in 2024. The exhibit connected visitors to the emotional states of participants from the other venue, across time and geography. Services: Immersive Media, Phygital Experiences, Art Direction, Experimental Art Brief: Enhance the appreciation of orchestral music for wider audiences. Collaborators: And we did - as part of Tech x Performance, in collaboration with musicians from Raffles Music College and NUS YST. Field research into the landscape of performance arts surfaced a specific barrier: first-time listeners find orchestral music difficult to follow not because it is complex, but because they do not know what to listen for. Interviews with practitioners at Raffles Music College confirmed that making the motif explicit changes how audiences experience a live performance. Aria Lumina was developed over ten weeks with iterative prototyping and close collaboration with musicians from both colleges. The approach was a projection-led spotlight system directing audience attention to the musician carrying the current motif, drawing on cinematic framing as a reference point. Testing with NUS YST musicians confirmed the visuals did not interfere with performance. "Orchestral music often used to carry an aura of elitism, creating barriers for new listeners. But we're trying to change that narrative." — Mark Sim, instructor at the Raffles Music College "If a first time listener knew what motif to look out for in different pieces, they would automatically start appreciating the performance." The project delivered a functional prototype and a validated interaction model within ten weeks. Conductor-baton controls were not completed within the timeline. The interaction model is established for future iterations focused on first-time audience engagement.
